Toolmaking
Advanced tool shop for development and manufacturing
At Aplast the in house tool shop represents one of the key competitive advantages as it enables full control over the development and manufacturing of tools for rotomoulding production. By integrating the tool shop sandblasting facility and machine workshop we ensure high precision flexibility and fast response in the development of new products.
We manage all stages of tool production from modeling and preparation of technical documentation to the final manufacturing of molds. We produce molds from sheet metal as well as steel or aluminum using CNC machining. All tools are manufactured in accordance with technical documentation and final product requirements ensuring accuracy and production repeatability.
Comprehensive tool development
Our tool shop is equipped with modern technology and enables the production of large dimension tools. For complex projects we use a combination of different technologies integrating sheet metal constructions with CNC machined molds to achieve optimal functionality and structural stability.
Sandblasting and surface finishing
An important part of the process is sandblasting which ensures a uniform and controlled surface structure of the tools. We use shot blasting with steel beads providing consistent and controlled surface roughness of the final plastic product. The finished tool achieves a homogeneous structure with no visible traces of welding grinding or similar processes. The blasting facility enables processing of large tools up to 4 meters in size.
Machine workshop
In the machine workshop we use CNC milling and turning centers to manufacture tools for plastic and rubber injection molds matrices for larger tools which are then integrated into larger assemblies in the tool shop as well as aluminum tools. With the use of modern CNC programming for machining and design we are capable of meeting complex technical challenges. All products are manufactured in accordance with approved technical documentation.
All tool and mold machining processes are carried out based on prior CAD CAM designs which serve as the foundation for CNC controlled machining systems. Our expertise and equipment enable the development and production of high quality tools.
