Rotomoulding technology

Rotomoulding (rotational moulding) is an advanced polymer processing technology that enables the production of exceptionally durable and long-lasting products. At Aplast, it represents a core manufacturing technology. In the wider industry, it is valued for its reliability, flexibility and its ability to produce complex hollow structures that are often difficult or impossible to achieve with other processes.

The rotomoulding process is based on the uniform distribution of material inside a rotating mould under precisely controlled process parameters such as temperature, cycle time and rotational speed. This method enables the production of seamless products with consistent wall thickness and high mechanical strength. The result is durable and reliable products suitable for demanding industrial applications, while also offering significant design freedom for complex geometries without additional joints.

Rotomoulding provides numerous advantages, including high design flexibility, the ability to produce complex geometries, virtually unlimited size possibilities and excellent surface quality. The process is also cost-efficient, enabling optimal material utilization and reduced waste. An important benefit is its sustainability: materials can be re-ground and reused, supporting circular material use and reducing environmental impact.

At Aplast, we complement rotomoulding with in-house development, tool manufacturing and additional processes such as machining, assembly and welding. This allows us to provide comprehensive solutions that ensure faster development, greater flexibility and high-quality end products.

Plastic injection moulding

To complement our rotomoulding production, we also utilize plastic injection moulding, particularly for components that require high precision, repeatability or specific technical properties. The combination of both technologies enables the production of functionally complex assemblies.

Materials and optimization

In production, we use high-quality polymer materials from certified and verified suppliers. Material selection is tailored to product requirements such as mechanical strength, chemical resistance, UV stability and service life. The process is optimized to achieve maximum material efficiency and minimal waste.

Assembly and component integration

After primary production, products are further processed and assembled into functional systems. We apply welding processes (butt welding, extrusion welding, electro-fusion), mechanical machining and the integration of additional components. This ensures full adaptation of the final product to its intended application.

CNC and robotic machining

To achieve high precision, we use CNC and robotic machining processes that ensure repeatability and consistent quality even for complex geometries. When required, we also perform manual finishing to achieve an optimal final result.

Quality control in production

The production process is under continuous quality control. We monitor key parameters, perform in-process inspections and final product validation. This ensures compliance with customer requirements and high product reliability.
